Prices and per-km running costs read from the live game build on 12 October 2026. "Runs at" is the fuel cost per kilometre driven.
How buying a car works
Polanco Motors on Victoria Island (Lagos) is the main dealership: the game itself says it has everything from a Bajaj Boxer to a Bugatti. Abuja players get their own dealers: Capital Motors, Kefiano Autos and Sarkinmota Autos (all on the locations list). Your garage holds 10 cars, you drive one at a time, and switching is instant from the garage.
Selling back: the 60% rule
The dealer pays exactly 60% of the list price for any car, from a Corolla to a Chiron. That makes every purchase a 40% loss the moment you drive off, so buy cars you will actually use. If your goal is growing money rather than growing garage, the game's own yield assets (businesses from ₦150k, land, trailers) are the better home for naira: all payback periods are compared in the money guide's investment tables.
Running costs: cars vs danfo
Owning a car replaces transport fares: no ₦100 base per trip, no go-slow markup (your car's traffic factor is near the lowest of all modes), just fuel per kilometre. The cheap end is unbeatable: the Bajaj Boxer runs at ₦3/km, cheaper than a danfo's ₦5/km plus base fare. The hypercars flip it: ₦25 to ₦30 per km means the ₦12bn La Voiture Noire costs roughly ten danfo rides for every single kilometre. Trekking stays free (but tiring); the full fare table is in the locations guide's travel section.
Which car should you buy?
- First ₦1m: Bajaj Boxer (₦350k). Beats go-slow, sips fuel, and it is a bike, so traffic barely touches you.
- First ₦1m to ₦3m: Toyota Corolla 2008 (₦900k, "Tokunbo Baby Boy") or Honda Accord (₦1.8m). Real car, AC, cheap-ish to run.
- Comfortable (₦3m to ₦10m): Camry, Sienna for the family-run roleplay, Lexus RX 350 or BMW 330i as your first flex car.
- Serious money (₦15m to ₦500m): Prado, G-Wagon, M5, X7, LX 600, Range Rover, Bentayga, Urus. The flex zone: shakara at every gate.
- Billionaire row (₦1bn+): Cullinan, Phantom, SF90, Revuelto, G63 6x6, Chiron (₦2.5bn, nicknamed The Unbuyable), Jesko, and the ₦12bn La Voiture Noire at the very top.
Remember the 60% resale rule before splashing: the ₦12bn flagship resells for ₦7.2bn. For most players the honest ladder is Boxer, then Corolla, then a flex car when the businesses are already paying you every evening (see how to make money in Lagos Life).
